I want to touch on a topic of being a working mom or a stay at home mom. I feel it’s pretty sad and degrading when all you hear is “well you just stay at home all day” or “I can’t believe you choose your career over your children”. Coming from someone who has been on both sides of the topic, I will honestly say, I have never been bashed for being a working mom, but as soon as I decided to stay home with my children, oh boy. “I don’t just sit at home all day”, “well I have a job”, “must be nice to afford that type of luxury”. First of all, it’s barely affordable, we struggle, and had to cut a lot of unnecessary expenses. Also, trust me, if all you’re doing is sitting around all day, then you’re not working the stay at home mom job properly. Either you pay someone to take care of your kids or you do it, and if you pay someone to sit around all day then you are wasting your money if you get what I’m saying. With that being said, momma’s shouldn’t have to worry about others talking about them because of their “choice”. If a momma wants to continue her career, work her butt off to accomplish everything she dreamed of in life… GO FOR IT MOMMA! Your children will be so proud of you and you are setting such an amazing example for your children to follow. If a momma decides she wants to stay at home and raise her children….. GO FOR IT MOMMA! Your children will know they are always taken care of and you are too setting an amazing example for your children. Mothers shouldn’t be put in the position of feeling guilty for their choice. Both sides are sacrificing, whether it be sanity and a career, or the extra time with your children and school activities. Either way, we should be supporting each other, not criticizing each other. Being a momma is hard enough as it is without dealing with the downgrading from others. Without dealing with the extra failure feeling! So if you’re a working momma…. YOU ARE AMAZING AND YOU ARE DOING GREAT! If you’re a stay at home momma….. YOU ARE AMAZING AND YOU ARE DOING GREAT! Don’t let negativity keep you from shining. The good lord made you who you are, and you are ment to be who you are for your babes! Never change who you are, unless it’s for the better!
