Accept yourself as who you are, because no one else will. My Blue heeler is just that, a Blue Heeler. He is an Australian Cattle Dog. His characteristics, personality, even looks prove him to be so. But, unfortunately for him, he is often COMPARED to labs, bulldogs, boxers, etc. He is often COMPARED to dogs that are nothing like him. Not very fair right? I agree. He is judged and criticized for “being him”, and doing exactly what he is suppose to do and acting exactly the way he is suppose to act. He is very misunderstood! We love him very much of course, and understand him completely. It’s others that don’t understand him. He is very protective of his family, not sure of strangers, playful, and a tad bit aggressive if he is not sure of you. If you google “Blue Heeler” traits, you will find my pup. I bring this up because we do the same thing to ourselves. We COMPARE ourselves to others and criticize ourselves for not looking, acting, or being the same as others. Something I always tell my kids, we are all meant to be different, otherwise the world would be a very boring place. Imagine a world where everyone looked the same, acted the same, so on and so forth. Sounds like the movie Stepford Wives. I don’t think so. The Lord made us all different for a reason, so OWN it. LOVE yourself. LOVE others. APPRECIATE others. LEARN from others. ACCEPT yourself for who you are. ACCEPT others for who they are. Stop looking at the things you don’t like about someone, and start looking at all the things you love or admire about them. As I said before in “People Pleasers”, It’s so much easier to see the negative in someone or something, but it would be a much better world if we would only see the good. To do that, you need to start with yourself. Stop looking in the mirror and seeing what you don’t like about yourself. Look in the mirror this morning and say something you love about yourself. Something that makes you stand out from everyone else. Something you know someone else doesn’t like about you. I will say it again one more time for the people in the back ACCEPT YOURSELF AS WHO YOU ARE BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WILL!
(my bulldog Annie wanted in on the pic too, no personal space)
