He Listens

I was on my way to pick my kids up from school and was debating to myself on what to cook to go with dinner. I had a roast prepped, ready to go in the oven when I got home, along with taters. I thought to myself, um, stemmed broccoli sounds yummy, and the kids like it so I know they will eat it. Then, for some strange reason, I thought about Velveeta mac n cheese (which is my sons favorite). My kids are picky at times and most times for some crazy strange reason they won’t eat taters. I don’t know why or where they get it from because I have an obsession with them so I know they didn’t get it from me. So I thought, well, if I make the mac n cheese, at least I know they will eat that. Then I argued with myself again, because I am not the type of mom to supplement meals, you get what you get and don’t pitch a fit. Plus, I have an obsession with mac n cheese as well, and that doesn’t go good with taters when you’re trying to loose weight. Then I thought, but it will be a surprise to them and they will be so happy. Then, argued again, they will want me to supplement more often and not try new things. UGH! I debate off and on for a bit, then honestly forgot about it once I arrived to the school and picked the kids up. I get them buckled and get my kisses from each. We head home and I ask them about school. My daughter then asks, “Mommy, do we have bubble’s favorite mac n cheese?” (That’s what she calls her brother) I reply, “we sure do babe.” She then asks, “do we have any broccoli.” I say, “of course, why do you ask?” She then asks, “can we have that with supper tonight?”

WOW! I never once mentioned anything about supper, they had no clue what I had already prepped. I normally don’t decide supper plans until after they go to school in the mornings. It just goes to show that the Lord is always listening. He knows all, and if he’s going to help me with something as silly as trying to figure out what to make with supper, think of all the big things he is working out for you now! It might not be answered right away, but you will be answered on time! Even through my daughter, it’s the little things that remind me that he is always listening and he will help solve any problem, big or small.
