Bullying is inevitable normally throughout school life and even in adulthood. We have all endured bullying at some point in our lives. Whether you were specifically bullied, you were or are the bully, or you watched or defended someone being bullied. Maybe you are being bullied some type of way in your workplace, but not sure how to handle it. Bullying comes in all shapes and sizes. It does not necessarily mean beating someone up. It could be starting rumors, saying crude things, laughing, or picking. There needs to be better solutions other than “teach your kid not to be a wimp.” Not all kids are the same. Not all kids are brave enough to stand up for themselves. How about parents start being the solution. If your kid is brave, encourage them to stand up for others. Start a chain reaction, it only takes one to stand up, then the rest will follow. Talk to your kids about bullying, teach them to not be the bully. Remind them that we all are different so they won’t choose to pick on someone because of a difference. And by all means, don’t bully your children. Our children learn from us the type of person they become. So let’s set an example and be the difference!
