Take Care of You

I like lists, I am a list maker.

At the beginning of every week I like to sit down and map out how the rest of my week should go. What chores I need to do and when, places I need to go, when’s the best day to do my grocery shopping, even down to a list of what writings/lyrics/music I need to be focused on.

Today, I looked at my list and started about my day. Today was the day I planned on doing some deep cleaning. But, today just wasn’t good for me.

I was tired from all the going non stop so far this week and I was just not in the mood for deep cleaning.

So, I did the bare minimum. I did my usual everyday chores, I fed the horses then the dogs. I took a long, hot shower. I kicked back in my bed with my robe on, hair up in a towel and flipped through the TV looking for something for background noise. I picked out a cute outfit to wear instead of my usual workout clothes or jeans and a tank top. I put some curling cream in my hair and scrunched it all up. I even did my makeup, right down to the bright red lipstick.

Even though I love to have my lists and scheduled things to do, they don’t always go as planned.

I may have had a busy day planned for today and alot to get done, but God knew I needed something else. I needed to take care of me before I got overwhelmed. God knew I needed to clear my head.

God already has a road map planned out for us, and I promise, he isn’t looking at your calendar.

I am happy and content and God knew I needed that.

So, whenever your day doesn’t go as planned, don’t fret over it or don’t beat yourself up about it. Just take a deep breath and listen to what God has planned for you and why.
